We live in a house with a concrete roof. Our neighbors have a concrete roof too, and recently they've been dealing with some water leakage. This doesn't look like any fun, and we want to do whatever we can to prevent this from happening to us. Does anyone have any tips on preventing water leakage on a concrete roof?

Water leaks can cause a lot of wasted water and damage to your home, as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency explains. It’s a good thing that you're putting effort in now to prevent this from happening in your home. You need to fill any cracks or holes with primer to make sure your roof is as strong as possible.

It's likely that your neighbors had cracks in their roof, and that's why water was able to get through. Have you noticed any cracks in your roof? If you haven't checked recently, I'd make that a priority just to make sure. It's easy enough to fill in these cracks to prevent water damage, and it's good that you're trying to do this now. Best of luck!

We had a house with a concrete roof and there was some water leakage after a major storm. This caused big headaches for us and I wish we would have been a bit more proactive like you and your family seem to be. I think the key is to be on top of things and regularly check your roof for cracks and areas where water could get in. You can ask a local roofing contractor to help you with this.

What a bummer for your neighbors, and I hope the same thing doesn't happen to you. Have you had your roof inspected recently? If you haven't, that's something I would recommend. The best roofing contractors in your area can thoroughly check out your roof and point out any cracks or areas that need to be filled in before water can get through.
